Guests
How it worksCan I use Valid now?
Not yet. Valid is launching at Virginia colleges, and the parties on this site are examples. Leave your school email and we’ll email you when Valid is live at your school. Join the list
Do I need to download an app?
No. The party link opens in your browser. You pay with Apple Pay, and your ticket goes to Apple Wallet.
What if the party is canceled?
You get your money back on your card. Valid holds what you paid until the party happens.
My phone died. Can I still get in?
Yes. Door staff find you by name and match your face to the photo you verified with.
Can I bring a +1?
If the host allows a +1, you can buy a guest ticket along with yours. Your guest verifies with their own school email and photo.
Who can read the party chat?
Only people with a ticket to that party. Next to every name you see that person’s ticket: general admission (GA), VIP, Host or Door. About the party chat
Can I resell my ticket?
Your ticket is tied to you as a verified student. Its code changes every few seconds, so a screenshot or a forwarded copy won’t get anyone else in.
What does a ticket cost?
The price on the party link. It includes every fee, so you pay nothing extra at checkout. Free parties stay free.

Nothing. You set the ticket price and keep all of it. Guests pay a small fee, and it’s inside the price they see. See pricing
When do I get paid?
48 hours after the party, with a statement your treasurer can check. Valid holds the money until then. If you cancel, every guest gets their money back.
Who can buy tickets?
You choose for each party. Invite only means people you send the party link to. The other options are your school, any verified student, or a public listing anyone can find. Every buyer verifies.
Can I add co-hosts and door staff?
Yes. Add a co-host, a treasurer and door staff. Your treasurer can check the payout statement, and door staff can only check guests in.
How does check-in work?
Door staff scan codes on a phone, and the scanner works with no signal. If a guest’s phone died, staff find them by name and match their verification photo. You get a live headcount with a capacity alert and choose if guests can leave and come back. Check-in at the door
Can people buy at the door?
Yes. Print your door poster. People in line scan it and buy with Apple Pay.

Alcohol at a paid party needs a license.
If a party sells tickets and serves alcohol, the host needs a licensed venue or a Virginia ABC license.
Valid never uses student data to target ads.
Valid uses your school email and photo to verify you and to find you at the door.
